Lotus Lantern Festival

Hey all just wanted to share what the parade was like. It was very cool and I was happy I decided to go. We got to see a temple service at a Buddist Monestary, look at buetiful lanterns and experience the culture of Korea. Emily and I went in the late afternoon so we missed making traditional art and seeing some dances but just walking around Illsadong and seeing another part of Seoul was cool. Emily and I then went to Subway wich I've only had twice since being in Korea and man it was good. I actually had real ham and turkey that was not sour or sweet. I wolfed it down with glee. We also noticed some of the boxes and the misspelled word that made us laugh ourselves silly. We both took pics of it. Emily and I also had an adventure getting back home. We couldn't take the bus because the roads were blocked so we took the subway. I thought we had found line that was pretty direct to the Bundang Line, what I didn't know is that that particular line ended three stops down and then came back to Illsadong. We were very confused because we couldn't understand why we backtracked. We got off and tried to go the other direction but the conductor guy said no go back onto that train. We then went on it went to the last stop and came right back from where we started. By that time both of us were very angry. We luckily found an English speaking ticket guy who told us to get off at the last stop and get on another train. We eventually got home but it was 12:30 at night and we had been on the subway for 21/2 hours. Well, at least I know now how to get back to Bundang from Illsadong.
